‘I am the inbetween of the beats of your heart’ is based off of a poem I wrote the day after my late Aunt’s passing. Based off of a traditional Korean pyeongsang (평상); a place for gathering and community, I was exploring both how to exist in, and create spaces for non-corporeal beings, and in doing so, create a vessel for grief.



나는 날숨 전의 들숨입니다

나는 단잠 전의 평온입니다

나는 기다림이 늘 그렇듯 이곳에 있습니다

나는 당신의 고동 그 사이에 있습니다

나는 지금껏 그래왔으며, 앞으로도 당신일 것입니다

영원히



I am the inhale before breath 

the calm before sleep

I am here as the waiting that always was

I exist as the inbetween of the beats of your heart

I am, was, and will be you.
